Effective July 1, 2002, the "Iowa Society of Accounting Practitioners" changed it's name to "Iowa Society of Licensed Public Accountants".

Licensed Public Accountants are required by law to complete a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education per year in order to maintain a current license to practice. These classes and/or courses must include accounting, income and other taxes, personnel administration and varied related courses to continually update the A.P.'s knowledge and skills.
